VOLLEYBALL NATION LEAGUE - is a newly establish volleyball competition in the world of volleyball sports. To be chosen as host city is another history in the making. Now China & France will claim this history. The cities of Nanjing, China & Lille, France have the bragging rights to say that they are first host cities in Women & Men division respectively.
Nanjing is the capital of China's Jiangsu Province, situated in the Yangtze River Delta, with a population of just more than 30 million in the metropolitan area. It is a major Centre of culture, education, research, politics, economy, transport networks and tourism and the home to one of the world's largest inland ports. The city and greater area, known for its natural beauty, attracts millions of tourists annually. A major sporting hub and home to major league teams in several sports, Nanjing has hosted the 2005 National Games of China and the 2014 Summer Youth Olympic Games.

Lille in France, with over a million inhabitants in the metropolitan area, Lille is the fifth largest city of France, located in the country's north, close to the border with Belgium. Lille is nowadays a major and commercial and transportation hub and a wealth of cultural and tourist attractions, plus a vibrant university scene.
